Reverend Robert & Charlie Barath Live at Liveburgh

Afternoon Acoustic Blues Duo Live at Liveburgh with:

Reverend Robert & Charlie Barath.

When Reverend Robert and Charlie Barath met in Clarksdale, MS, it didn’t take long for this pair of talented individuals to realize that the potential for a dynamic musical duo was in the making.Combining their many years of performing Blues and Roots music, they have hit the ground running and continue to build a fan base wherever they go. Robert, with his resonator guitars, and Charlie, with his Marine Band harmonicas, have created a special musical experience steeped in American tradition, yet unique in its presentation. With fresh takes on classic covers mixed together with their own original music done in a traditional style, these two troubadours continue to charm and captivate listeners wherever they perform.

REVEREND ROBERT  (http://www.revrobert.com)

On a festival stage, club or bar, living room, on the street or in the back yard, Reverend Robert is a one-man show where Blues and American Roots music meets with a world beat. It is dance music played skillfully, gracefully and tastefully on beautiful metal resonator guitars. He has entertained audiences throughout the world including the U.S.and Canada, the U.K., Europe and India. The reverend is a master of Pre-warBlues, delving deeply into the musical stylings of Charley Patton and RobertJohnson as well as other notable Delta Blues giants. His Blues roots are increasingly influenced by early Jazz, Ragtime and Swing, as well as Caribbean,Hawaiian, African and Indian music, thus creating a perfect combination of tradition and fresh innovation. Combine his soulful vocals and award winning slide guitar with a powerful right hand and two feet stomping the beat and you wind up with an exciting, organic show with an irresistible groove.

CHARLIE BARATH

Since picking up his first Marine Band harmonica in the late 70s, Charlie Barath has been focused on the traditional aspect of this amazing little instrument.Blues, Roots, Americana, Folk, Gospel, Country, Cajun – these are the influences that have help shape his style of play. In addition to performing regionally as well as on the road, Charlie spends his time teaching harmonica both individually and in a group setting at various harmonica events. He has also made a mark on the competition scene winning state championships in WestVirginia and Ohio plus as a semi-finalist at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN, appearing there two consecutive years as a solo act. Whether a welcome addition as a solid sideman or fronting his own Blues band, Charlie Barath engages and entertains traditional music lovers wherever he goes.

Dead Gowns & Angela Autumn Live at Liveburgh

Dead Gowns from Portland Maine is planning a duo tour this summer promoting their debut EP "New Spine".  According to Chris Busby of The Bollard, Portland Maine's voice for local music, he has never heard a female singer with the combination of vocal prowess and emotive character that lead singer Geneviève Beaudoin possesses comparing her to Lucinda Williams with that Southern timbre and boozy drawl.

Angela Autumn has performed at Livburgh before and is MUCH WELCOMED BACK.  She will open the show and I'm sure needs no introduction as she's quickly becoming one of the Burgh's top up and coming singer-songwriters.
